The first operating day of the 2026 railway season was today, Thursday 19th March which saw trains return to the familiar timetable (noted as “R” on the literature) with two services trains, once again passing at the station four times a day at twenty-seven minutes past the hour.
The opening day saw trains well patronised with No.4 Loch and No.13 Kissack both in operation, hauling vintage carriages F.11, F.15, F.47, F.48, F.49 F.62 and F.63 in their smart post-war red and cream livery making a welcome return to the countryside.
The season will continue five days a week (with no trains on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in March) then a daily service for Easter Fortnight with the regular daily operation commencing from Wednesday 20th May. See the Full Timetable for details.
