The season got off to a great start with trains well patronised and a number of coach groups travelling to the ancient capital in style by steam train.  The regular timetable now operates Thursdays-Sundays for the shoulder season, running daily from late May.

As ever, the Friends Of... volunteers have been active, in the days leading up to the first trains getting the historic site ready for the arrival of the first passengers; benches were cleaned, signs erected, blackboards painted and the waiting room thoroughly cleaned out.

Following the success of the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary events last year we are looking forward to another bumper year on the railway and at the station in particular, the volunteers have a long list of tasks to ensure the station remains looking its very best.
