Castletown Bowing Club & Green
The present club was started in 1950 and some of the original founders are members to this day; it was originally an all men’s club but in 1975 a ladies section was brought into being, with the assistance of the male members at this time. Then in 1992 a proposal was put forward to unite the two sections and since that date we have run a very successful joint Club with all members pulling together to make it so. There are three men’s teams playing in the open age evening league and an over 60s team playing in the over 60s afternoon league. Our ladies team plays in the open age women’s league. Throughout the summer months we have a programme of club competitions which are open to all club members. Junior members are encouraged to play at the club and 2004 saw an influx of a number of youngsters joining the club and displaying admirable enthusiasm!
