This year saw the final Island At War 1940s-themed weekend staged by the railway, something of a return to form after a few lacklustre years, and the station once again formed a key part with its historical backdrop proving an ideal base once again for the visiting re-enactment groups. The waiting room served as a map room complete with wartime displays and the station was dressed overall by the Friends Of... volunteers once again, old posters taking the place of modern promotions to ensure that key period feel for the weekend. Beginning in 2011, the Island At War was a highlight of the calendar intermittently for a decade and once that is still sorely missed by supporters of the railway. Smaller scale events have been staged by the Friends Of... volunteers to much success and these are often mooted as returning, but are subject to sufficient volunteers coming forward, the last such event having been staged in 2020.
