Manx National Week Services
Manx National Week Services
Saturday, 11th July 2026
From Sunday, 5th July all service trains carried headboards denoting Manx National Week which this year fell on the Sunday meaning the bank holiday was the following day, Monday 5th. With continued excellent weather trains were well loaded, with No.4 Loch, No.11 Maitland and No.13 Kissack all in operation during the week and evening dining trains also calling at the station.
With visiting cruise liners further boosting the figures, the station Gift Shop was well supported, notably on days when the doors were opened, stocking a range of gifts, postcards, souvenirs, models, jigsaws and publications, all reasonably priced as usual. A new range of fridge magnets priced at £2.50 each also proved popular. A range of period posters are also on sale.
The railway is now gearing up for the Manx Heritage Transport Festival later in the month, full details of which may be found here, and daily services continue, the “S” timetable being a fixture each Saturday throughout July and August as well as selected dates in the festival seeing more services and trains later in the day. The Friends Of... volunteers continue to be busy on site.
