Under Development

Once a feature of many stations along the line, one of the potential projects which has been mooted by the Friends Of... volunteers is the recreation of the cattle dock on the remaining portion of the loading platform in the goods yard; the accompanying image shows the location of the original and was captured before commencement of works on the new housing estate at the rear of the station. The pen structure was made of palisade fencing.

Scale drawings have kindly been provided by member Ed More and some initial enquires made for pricing the timber required, and at the present time the project remains on the list for completion as and when funding can be raised or sourced; the addition of modern building behind the area will rather detract from the historical integrity of any replica but this still remains under consideration by the group - we always welcome feedback and suggestions for future projects!
